Cryptocurrency risks
- Transactions are irreversible. Once a transaction confirms on-chain, it cannot be undone. Burned tokens are permanently destroyed.
- Token values fluctuate. The estimated USD value shown during scanning may differ from the actual value at execution time due to price movement.
- Slippage can reduce output. DEX swaps may return less than the estimate if market conditions change between scanning and execution.
- Not all tokens have liquidity. Some tokens cannot be swapped because no trading pair or liquidity pool exists. These are skipped automatically.
Smart contract risks
- Smart contracts can have vulnerabilities. Despite testing and review, no software is guaranteed to be free of bugs.
- DEX protocols carry their own risks. PocketChange routes through third-party DEXes (Raydium, Uniswap, PancakeSwap, etc.). Each protocol has its own risk profile.
- Permit2 is maintained by Uniswap Labs. PocketChange does not control or audit the Permit2 contract. It is widely used and audited, but risks exist in any smart contract dependency.
Network risks
- Transactions can fail. Network congestion, gas price spikes, or RPC errors can cause transactions to fail. Failed transactions do not move funds.
- Solana transactions expire. If you don’t sign within ~60 seconds, the transaction becomes invalid and must be retried.
- Gas costs can exceed token value. On Ethereum, gas fees may be higher than the dust tokens being converted. PocketChange’s gasless mode covers this when possible, but it is not guaranteed.
Your responsibilities
- Verify transaction details before signing. Your wallet shows what will happen. Review it.
- Confirm destination addresses carefully. PocketChange validates address format but cannot verify that the destination wallet is correct or that you control it.
- Understand burn mode. Burned tokens are permanently destroyed and cannot be recovered.
- Do your own research. PocketChange is a utility tool, not financial advice. Decisions about which tokens to convert, keep, or burn are yours.
